'Nellu' is a malayalam film directed by Ramu Kariat in 1974 after the award winning novel of the same name by P Valsala. The film is based on the tribals of Wayanad hills in the deep Kerala forests. It stars Prem Nazir and Jayabharati in the lead roles. The film is noted for it's asthetic quality and is regarded as a landmark in the malalyalam film industry.
